March Pub Quiz
You are invited to attend the monthly trivia night at The Prenup Pub on Tuesday, March 25. Please register before Monday, March 24 at 10 pm.
The Prenup Pub is one of the best pubs in the city. It’s a Belgian style pub with a wonderful atmosphere, great food, and extraordinary draft beer, all at reasonable prices. In fact, the atmosphere is actually free! The draft beer list consists of 70 quality brews, of which most are European. There is also a sizeable wine list. The food menu is also extensive and also mostly European, with French, Belgian, Italian and German specialties. There are also quite a few vegetarian and vegan dishes.
The schedule for the evening is as follows:
This will be an unusual pub quiz in that the participants will choose the categories before the quiz begins. Virtually any category is possible, including history, geography, 80s music, Soviet fashion, marine biology, supramolecular chemistry, and even cycling. The teams or four or five will brainstorm possible categories, and we all vote to determine the five most popular topics. Then, since each team will be responsible for one round of questions, they will work together to compose 8-10 questions in their assigned category. Phones are permitted only during this phase and during the break.
The Prenup Pub is conveniently located at 191 College Street, just a five-minute walk west of Queen’s Park subway station. There also is street parking available, especially on McCaul Street. We will be on ground floor of the pub, on your right as you walk in (next to the bar). View the map here.
Questions or concerns please contact Ken Lackman, Social Director at social@tbn.ca.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

We leave Victoria Square and while continuing to work out the winter kinks we make our way north to Brooks Farm. The roads are usually good and the chocolate milk and butter tarts never cease to please. I'm sure that everyone who participates will be as pleased as I am to finally get off the trainer (or not) and get outside on a real road with real hills and with real people.

There is no coffee stop on this route; bring your own snack for the pause at the turnaround. The return is by a similar route. Total about 37kms - should finish about 12:30 to 1:00pm.

C.O.B.BLE ROADS CC
Another relatively new addition to our Country Cruise collection, thanks to the route research of one of our CC "regulars". It was created in summer 2020 - that memorable Covid-19 summer of riding in "bubbles". Rest assured there are no cobble roads! Rather the C.O.B. refers to the significant towns on the ride: Courtice, Orono and Bowmanville. It is a lovely route that travels on undulating roads, including one which is perhaps the best - quite literally Best Road! - found on any of our CCs. The lunch spot at Orono Park, in Orono, is perfect with picnic tables and washroom facilities. Bring your own lunch or pick something up at the bakery (if open) or convenience store in Orono.
Start: Courtice Community Complex (2950 Courtice Rd, Courtice, ON)
Driving directions: Take Hwy 401 Express east to exit 425. Go north on Regional Rd. 34 / Courtice Rd. to Courtice. The Community Complex and parking lot is on the left, just south of Nash Rd.
Start time: 10:00am
Distances: 64km, 72km & 87km

Safety Reminder: Signal all turns and stops. If you are unable to signal, call out the turn. In the meantime You must practise riding with one hand, so that eventually you are able to signal. This is important in traffic. Give adequate warning to cyclists behind you by calling out "stopping" when you intend to stop.
