Trip Presentation: Europe
This month's trip presentation features two presenters with two very different cycling trips in Europe. The event is free and open to all TBN members and their guests.
Amsterdam to Aachen in 10 Days: Terry Walsh
This was a 10-day cycling trip that went through three countries. It started in Amsterdam and, after several other stops in The Netherlands, went through the province of South Holland into Belgium. After visits to some historic Belgian cities, the route then led to Maastrict back in The Netherlands before ending up in Aachen, Germany. Among the many highlights was a ride along the North Sea Trail through sand dunes and riding through the hilliest part of The Netherlands. Click here for a copy of Terry's slides.
Biking and Barging in Europe: Sandra McCrossan
Interested in a bike and barge trip in Europe?
This presentation will focus on how to plan a bike and barge trip, mainly the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany or northern Italy. Learn about the types of boats, where they can travel, what is available for the trip you want to do and how to plan and book your trip. The presentation will feature highlights from each country, such as the exhilarating boat ride along the Seine right into the heart of Paris. Click here for a copy of Sandra's slides.
The event takes place at The Northern District Public Library, which is conveniently located a two-minute walk north of the Eglinton Subway station. You can find free parking on the small streets west and north of the library. Please read parking signs before parking.
Presentations will take up an hour including a short Q and A, but participants are welcome to continue discussion afterward at the Duke of Kent Pub, which is across the road from the library.
