Country Cruises  (CCs) -

And so the 2020 Country Cruise Season comes to a close.

It was definitely unique and, no doubt, will long be remembered as the "COVID-19 Season".

In spite of its shortened duration and pandemic restrictions, the season was a success.

Special thanks go to our Ride Leaders who volunteered, when we resumed scheduling rides in August:

Barry, Chris, Dennis, George, John, Rein, Robert, Rowena, and Sandra.

And thanks to all of you who registered and participated in the rides, following the TBN / Public Health pandemic guidelines!

Looking forward to seeing you all again on a CC in 2021...hopefully post-pandemic!

Join us to cycle on paved rural “roads less traveled”. There are two, often three, choices of routes and distances. These are tourist class rides typically in the range of 60, 75, or 90+ kms. You should be comfortable riding in a small group or occasionally on your own. Speeds are typically 20 to 26 km/hr, and groups of riders might choose to occasionally regroup following the TBN COVID-19 Policy. The ride leader usually rides the long distance route (if there are 2 route options) or medium distance route (if there are 3 route options) and there are no sweeps.

START TIMES FOR 2020 will be:

August 02 - August 30: 9:00 am, to beat the summer heat

Sept. 06 - October 18: 10:00 am

Please check this web-page regularly to plan your rides and for updates related to Covid-19. Any cancellations or changes to the schedule will be noted in the "Upcoming Events" section at least 18 hrs. in advance of the ride.

You must register for each ride.  Registration is limited to 20 riders, which includes the ride leader, and will be open from Tuesday to Saturday during the week before each ride. Please don’t register anonymously, so the ride leader can check who has registered. This is necessary for contact tracing should someone become ill with Covid-19.

If you cannot attend the ride, please cancel no later than 12:00 noon on Saturday, so someone else can register. The website software does not allow for an automatic waiting list. If you find that registration is full, keep checking during the week in case a spot opens up.

As part of the COVID-19 precautions, only TBN members can register for rides this year. When you register, you will have to indicate both your agreement with the revised TBN waiver, and that you have read the TBN COVID-19 Policy, which also has advice on preparing for and taking part in the ride.

You must wear a helmet to join any TBN ride, and you must be ready to show your TBN membership card to the ride leader.

You must bring a mask and hand sanitizer, and wear the mask whenever it is not possible to maintain 2 metres social distance.

Starting this year, Country Cruise ride leaders will no longer bring paper maps and cue sheets for riders. Please print and bring your own. You can also download the route to your smartphone or GPS device.
