Friday Night Ride - Etobicoke Meander - Long

  • 23 Jun 2017
  • 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Etienne Brule Park

Weather is GO, flight. So, we'll be riding tonight! :-)

Distance:  38 km
Ride classification Urban Roller
Start point:  Etienne Brule Park parking lot
Start time: 6:30 p.m.
Online maps: RideWithGPS.com TBN Club Maps
GPS files: 38 km GPX
Printable Cue sheets:  38 km PDF

Summer solstice week means we can go on longer rides. This ride starts up the Humber Trail and along the Eglinton Ave. West cycle track  and then goes deep into the suburban landscapes of Toronto's west end.

We then take some bike lanes south and eventually end up at the Tim Hortons at Sherway Gardens. After the break, we continue into the Etobicoke Creek Trail system, and then we enter the Waterfront Trail for some views of the Lake.

If we time it right, and the weather cooperates, we will have a great view of Toronto at twilight from Cliff Lumsdon Park at Fifth Street.

Since King Mill Park is still closed, we'll take an alternate route up the bike lanes on Royal York and then head back to Etienne Brule Park via the Kingsway neighbourhood. The apres-ride is Bryden's, 2455 Bloor Street West, Toronto.

Note:
This ride uses a combination of trails, cycle tracks, bike lanes, signed routes on side streets, and the occasional arterial road (where the bike and trail system disappears in the west end).

Remember to bring membership card, lights and helmet. Non-members $5

PLEASE PRINT THE CUESHEETS & MAPS, OR DOWNLOAD THE GPS FILES BEFORE ATTENDING THE RIDE.

Here's some videos on how to use the TBN RWGPS Club Account to Print cue sheets and how to download routes to your smartphone.

Ride will be cancelled if it is raining at the start or a major weather warning has been issued for the route.
