Toronto is celebrating its Biennial of Art this year from September 21 to December 1. The mission is to make contemporary art accessible to everyone. A ten-week event every two years, the Biennial commissions artists to create new works for a city-wide exhibition in dialogue with Toronto’s diverse local contexts. More info is available at https://torontobiennial.org/.
(Note that the start location has changed since this walk was first scheduled). Meet at about 10:00 AM at Dundas West subway station (main entrance, street level). Dundas West station is on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.
We will walk about 10 Km, and will see a number of exhibits that are part of the Toronto Biennial of Art. We may go in for a brief visit to some of the free exhibits, but will spend most of our time walking. If people are interested in what they see and want to spend more time, they can return to the exhibits on their own at a later date. The route includes a couple of washroom stops, and a coffee stop around the middle. We will end up back at Union Station, where there are restaurants and a food court for a snack or a meal, as well as public washrooms.
The walk will be entirely on city streets, so please wear shoes or boots appropriate for the weather.
There are currently no scheduled subway outages for this date, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.
