This ride is relatively flat to Burlington, where we will stop at the Coffee Culture Cafe and Eatery (390 Brandt Street), and relatively flat on the way back. The idea is to log another ride of 100+ km because of the tremendous benefits of long-distance cycling on the body's immune system (T cells in particular, as explained here).
The routes to Burlington and back have been chosen so as to be as different as possible, and to differ from the High Park-Oakville segment of the Vegan Gastronomic-1 ride. The return route begins with a rail trail, and makes use of Lakeshore Blvd after Oakville where doing so is pleasant, but avoids it in the Port Credit area, where the local traffic can be unpleasant.
Meet next to the Grenadier Restaurant if arriving by bike.
FOR THOSE ARRIVING BY CAR: High Park will be closed to vehicular traffic, but you can park on Ellis Ave and meet the group on the Martin Goodman trail (our route) next to where Ellis Ave forms a T intersection with Lakeshore Blvd West. We'll try to leave the Grenadier parking lot at 9:00 AM sharp, and should arrive a few minutes thereafter.
We are accepting "guest rider" registrations for this event. Guest registrations are $10 payable via PayPal.
If you have not registered for the ride, you may NOT join the ride.
