Meet at about 10:00 AM, at York University subway station (Line 1), just outside the fare gates, below ground level. Take any of the exits from the platform that say "York University". We will be walking in a loop, returning to York University station at the end. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.
We will be doing a whirlwind tour of some of the public art at York University. We will be walking past a large number of artworks, so only a very brief description of each will be provided. Additional information on most of the artworks is available at https://thegoldfarbgallery.ca/project/public-art-on-campus/.
This walk will be little shorter than usual, about 7Km, because of the number of items we will be seeing and due to the walk leader's family commitment in the afternoon.
The route is available at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49233298. Because the route is entirely on the campus, we will never be more than about 1.5 Km from York University Station.
Points of interest along the way will include:
- 0.0 Km - York University Station (start of walk)
- 200 m - washrooms
- 4.0 Km - Tim Hortons (coffee/washroom stop)
- 4.6 Km - early access to subway (Pioneer Village Station)
- 6.5 Km - early access to subway (York University Station)
- 6.8 Km - Student Centre Food Court (lunch stop, washrooms)
- 7.1 Km - York University Station (end of walk)
Please note that there will be no subway service between York Mills and St Clair stations on Line 1 (Yonge-University) this weekend, so please take this into account if it affects your travel plans. However, check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.
