Sunday Urban Roller - Tour of Toronto
TTC Subway note: Line 2 (Bloor) will be closed between Ossington and Jane stations. Shuttle buses will be running and some will have bike racks.
Driving note: The DVP and the Gardiner past the Kingsway will be closed for the Ride for Brain Health. Also, Dundas is closed between Ossington and Lansdowne for a street festival. It may be possible to get through on a bike but allow extra time. And remember, High Park is closed to vehicles on weekends.
Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Registration is free for TBN members. Non-members are welcome with the online payment of a $10 fee. If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation by Saturday. Attendance will be checked at the start. If you register after 8 am on the day of the ride bring a copy of the confirmation email, either printed or electronic, to show to the ride leader.
We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, a helmet.
A popular ride that uses quieter streets and trails. The route was revised last year to avoid the steep hill up to Casa Loma and to take advantage of some of the recent cycling infrastructure such as the new bike lanes on lower Bayview and Richmond Street. This year's route has a small change to avoid the messy detour in the Portlands before the lunch stop.
Meet for a 10 am departure from the Grenadier Cafe in the centre of High Park. The park is currently closed to cars on the weekend so if you are arriving by car you may need to park on the street nearby. Remember to allow extra time to get to the start point.
If a ride is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances a cancellation notice will be posted around 8 am on Sunday morning. Please check before leaving for the ride.
