The weather forecast has improved, but it will still be too cool for me to cycle, so we will have a walk today. If you would like to join us, meet at about 10:00 AM at Dufferin Station, just inside or outside of the main entrance, on the west side of Dufferin, just north of Bloor. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.
We will walk to the washrooms at Dufferin Mall, head for coffee and pastries at a Portuguese Bakery, then visit some back alleys on the way to Chinatown for lunch, and end up at St George Station, covering a distance of about 7 or 8 Km.
The route will be entirely on sidewalks and paved multiuse paths, but will include some back alleys, so please wear shoes or boots appropriate for the weather.
Subway service on Line 2 between Warden and Kennedy stations, and subway service on Line 1 between Sheppard West and Lawrence West stations will be replaced by shuttle buses on Sunday, so take this into account if it affects your travel plans, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.
Points of interest and early exits along the way include:
- 0.0 Km – Dufferin Station (start of walk)
- 0.5 Km – Dufferin Mall (washrooms)
- 2.2 Km – Caldense Bakery/Nova Era Bakery (coffee & natas and other pastries, washroom)
- 5.0 Km – Spadina and Dundas – (lunch at House of Gourmet (congee) or King's Noodle, or other restaurant, early exit to TTC (Spadina streetcar, Dundas bus)
