For those who want to join the Hwy 413 Protest Rally in Brampton being organized by Harvest Ontario and Environmental Defence, Danny Harvey will be leading a ride from Vaughan subway station through Kleinburg and to the rally site.

The portion of the ride from Vaughan Station to Kleinburg is the same as the start of the Vaughan-Palgrave Tourist ride, while the portion of the ride from km 48 onward is the same as the final part of the Vaughan-Palgrave Tourist ride.

We may be joined by a few other cyclists at Balzac's Cafe in Kleinburg at 10:15. We will pick up some protest bibs that will have been delivered to the cafe and can be pinned on our backs. Be sure to return your bib to me after arriving at the rally.

In addition to registering for this as a TBN ride in the usual way, you also need to register for the protest here. As you'll see when you register at the above link, food will be available at the rally (bring cash), and it is scheduled to end at 2:00, although I don't expect to stay that long, and others may chose to leave at various times.

Information on why Hwy 413 needs to be stopped is found here.

Meet on the east side of the oval, south station exit, depicted below, for a prompt departure at 9:30 AM, which will provide plenty of time to cover the 37 km to the 11:30 AM rally at the Brampton Fairgrounds (although arriving a bit after 11:30 will not be a problem, for those you want to take it a bit slower). There is parking available in a parking lot immediately to the east of the oval subway station, at a cost of $7 for the day on Sundays (and maybe also on Saturdays).

We are accepting "guest rider" registrations for this event. Guest registrations are $10 payable via PayPal.

If you have not registered for the ride, you may NOT  join the ride.
