Cycle Touring Around the World: Organized vs. Self-Supported

·         When is a trip more of an adventure versus a vacation?

·         When is it better to go on an organized trip, versus planning the trip yourself?

·         When is it great to be on your bike, and when is it better to find another mode of transportation?

Toronto Bicycling Network (TBN) member Karen Bota has been travelling with her bike on vacations both close to home and in more exotic locations like

Thailand, Vietnam, India and Canada’s Arctic for about 15 years.  Some of these trips have been organized supported tours, and some of them have been self-supported “plan as you go” trips.  Karen will share, through pictures and stories, some of her experiences and what she has learned along the way.

Though Karen’s experiences will highlight cycle touring from a woman’s perspective, Karen will regale us with adventures that will be entertaining, informative and inspiring for all cycling aficionados.
