There are 11 group dinner options for 2023

- These dinners are not paid for by Cyclon.  The cost will depend on what food and beverages you order.

- Please use the same name that you used to register for Cyclon!

- If spaces are still available at the venue, we may be able to add you to a restaurant of your choice at the registration desk on Friday.

1.  The Church-Key Bistro Pub

Description: Join Terry and Joanne for dinner at a historic restaurant called the Church-Key Bistro Pub which is at a downtown location in London. The restaurant offers a good selection of foods at a moderate price. We plan to have dinner on the patio to enhance and enjoy evening dining with comfortable seating and maybe a view of the sunset. Dinner may be indoors, weather permitting.

2.  Winks and Mingle

Meeting time: Meet behind Ontario Hall by the road next to the parking lot at 6:10 pm, depart residence at 6:15 pm, Meet at restaurant at 6:30 pm. Reservation is under George and Lina.

Description: Join us for a fun-filled evening at Winks where we will be encouraging our guests to stand up and mingle in between drinks, appetizers, main entree and dessert. You are even encouraged to change seating as you Wink and Mingle. We will have some ice-breakers and prizes.

Winks is highly rated in Google reviews. Winks is a unique, casual dining pub style restaurant with a large menu where you are sure to find your favourite foods. Average entree cost is $20 per person.  Event will be on the patio, weather permitting.

3.  Dine outdoors on the Old South Pub’s wrap-around patio in the heart of London’s Wortley Village

Description: Looking for a delicious dinner made in-house from fresh, seasonal ingredients? Come join us on the Old South Pub’s wrap-around patio* for a wide selection of salads, bowls, sandwiches, burgers, and pizza in a restored Victorian home! Under a 10-minute drive from the university. And if there’s interest, we can check out a live band that’s very close to the pub after dinner!  

 *In the event of inclement weather, we will eat inside the pub.

4.  Old Fashioned Diner

5.  Dinner at the MoHo

Description:  Located in a large old house at 359 Dundas St. in downtown London, The Morrissey House serves upscale pub food and a wide selection of Ontario craft beer and cider.  We have a reservation for the patio, weather permitting.  There is a small pay parking lot just west of the restaurant.  There is also free street parking after 6 pm on the north side of Dundas St. and on  Waterloo St., just west of the restaurant.

6.  Meander to McCabe’s

Meeting time: For those walking from Perth Hall, meet at 5:20 pm in residence kitchen for a prompt departure at 5:30 pm.  Meet at restaurant at 6:30 pm.

Description:  It is a 3.2 km walk, via Waldorf & Gibbons parks, the Thames-Valley parkway to St. James & few other residential streets.  Your reward will be cold beer and standard pub fare at this well-known venue.  Live music starts at 9:00 pm for those who wish, otherwise feel free to explore the area (ice cream at Haven’s across the way until 8:00 pm!!) before making your way home. (For a 30-minute, direct route, head west on Oxford, then north on Wharncliffe and Western Roads to the residence at #1125.  For those going directly to the restaurant, it is a 15-minute bike ride.  If anyone can get there early, it would be wonderful if you can hold the Sheila Jacobs patio booking.

7.  Cold Brew Time

Meeting time: Meet at Kitchen in residence at 5:30 pm.  Reservation at 6:00 pm.

Description:  Come and join Jacqueline and Ray at Toboggan Brewing Co., for locally made beer - Lunatic Fridge IPA, Mr. Insurance Man Blonde and Amber ale and lagers are always available; as well as Toboggan Draft Sampler Trays, along with Wine and mixed drinks. Their 519 Kitchen is committed to using locally grown ingredients - Flavourful Pub fare: small plates, salads and sandwiches with gluten-free options, pizzas, smoked meat options, tacos, and desserts - carrot cake, cheese cake; gluten-free chocolate torte cake!!! The Menu is created with so many options it will appeal to most everyone!   Reservation is under Jacqueline for 10 inside the restaurant, but patio is now open for first come, first serve.  Parking is limited to first come, first serve, but there is also paid parking in a lot behind the facility.

8.  Yasmine's Authentic Lebanese Cuisine- Highly-rated yummy Lebanese food on a patio!

Description: Yasmine's serves fresh-baked wood-oven pita bread, but also has many gluten-free options; meat dishes, and extensive vegetarian and vegan menu.  Sitting on the patio.  Parking is available.  3 km walk from Western residence, 15 minutes by bus or 8 minute drive.

9.  Wheels and Wok- Spice up your evening

Description: Reservation is on the patio (weather permitting) at downtown location, 120 Dundas Street. Classic Thai food like noodle stir-fries & curries plus cocktails.  Well rated with TripAdvisor & Facebook. No ties required!  Free street parking after 6 pm near the restaurant.

10.  Toboggan in London

Description:  Unbelievable, that London was a tobogganing mecca in the late 1800's with wooden ramps built all around town.  Toboggan Brewing is lovely- a 3km walk from campus.  Come enjoy the upstairs outdoors patio that has vegetarian friendly/vegan options. After dinner, walk around Victoria Park just across the street, and check out what live music is playing at "RIbFest" all weekend.  Parking on the street, or in the parking lot behind the restaurant.

11.  Beertown

Description: Join Donna for a fun evening out in London on the PATIO at Beertown.  The beer selection is outstanding but there is so much more!  Check out the menu- upscale pub food with some great vegetarian options.  It’s a 6 minute drive with free parking available.
