*** Let's celebrate a successful TBN walks season with a lunch for City Walk participants on Sunday, March 9, in the party room of Carmelle's condo building near Sherbourne and Adelaide E. Participants will be asked to contribute $10 to cover costs. Home-made lasagne (meat and vegetarian) will be served along with a couple of salads and dessert. There will be red and white wine and pop, or you can bring your own beer or other drinks if you wish. Please register before March 6 by emailing Carmelle or by emailing citywalks@tbn.ca (I will forward your email to Carmelle) and payment information will be provided to you. Please secure your spot with payment. Limit of 20 participants.

For today's walk, meet at about 10:00 AM at the McDonald's at 1735 Danforth Ave., on the south side of Danforth, just east of Coxwell Station. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.

We be looking at the structures from the Winter Stations international design competition on Woodbine Beach. This is the 11th Anniversary of Winter Stations, and the theme this year is Dawn. Info on Winter Stations is available at https://winterstations.com/.

We will walk in a loop, going 8.9 Km and returning to the start. The route will mostly be on city streets and paved pathways, but we will also be walking on Woodbine Beach. Please wear shoes or boots appropriate for the weather.

Subway service on Line 1 between Bloor-Yonge and Osgoode stations will be replaced with shuttle buses on Sunday, March 2, due to planned track work, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/service-advisories/subway-service#e=0 in case there are any changes.

Points of interest and early exits along the way include:

  • 0.0 Km – McDonald's (start of walk, washroom)
  • 1.0 Km – Monarch Park (washroom)
  • 3.4 Km – Woodbine Park (washroom)
  • 4.0 Km – Woodbine Beach (washroom)
  • 5.0 Km - Kew Beach (washroom)
  • 8.9 Km – McDonald's (end of walk, washroom)

If you have not registered for the walk, you may NOT join the walk.

If you have registered but can't attend, log in, click on "Already registered", then cancel.
