Friday Night Ice Skating March 10, 2017

  • 10 Mar 2017
  • 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Colonel Sam Smith Skating Trail, 3145 Lakeshore Blvd west

Hi everyone, weather permitting our next Friday night ice skating will be at Colonel Sam Smith skating trail located at the end of the line on the Kipling 44 South bus. Drivers this rink is on Kipling south of Lakeshore Blvd west just past the end of the bus line. There is a big parking lot free after 6 p.m. We will carpool to the apre's at Le Grille 1596 Queensway just before the 427. If you need a ride to the apre's or can give a ride let me know and I will match drivers and riders. My van will hold 6 passengers, drivers will be expected to take their passengers to the nearest subway after the apre's. At this time of year the outdoor ice conditions are unpredictable so if we get an warm snap, the default rink will be York Mills arena. I will make the venue change Friday morning  if necessary. Next week on 17th I will be out of town and Terry Walsh will host the skate location tbd.

A caution note; 4 years ago one of our skaters had her knapsack containing her winter boots stolen while she was skating. I think your shoes on the floor will be safe. If you bring a knapsack to store your shoes, wear it on your back skating otherwise it may be a temptation to thieves. Stealing a pair of shoes barehanded is too obvious but not a knapsack.
