Total Ambassadors: 50

For 21 years, TBN members have cycled on the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway on a Sunday in June, by volunteering to be ride ambassadors for the  Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart (sponsored once again this year by Manulife.) Note that as a volunteer, the normal registration fee to participate in the ride is waived.

TBN Ambassadors are required to be the "eyes and ears" of the event: riding in pairs, guiding traffic and alerting organizers if cyclists suffer medical distress or run into mechanical problems. You will not be expected to provide first aid and will only be asked to assist with basic mechanical issues and flats if you feel comfortable doing so.

This year, the ride takes place on Sunday, June 2. You'll receive your ride ambassador T-shirt or ride marshal armband and be briefed on details on the day of the ride, at the TBN booth outside the Enercare Centre on the CNE grounds.

To participate, please register here and plan to arrive bright and early on Sunday, June 2. For more information, contact Rick MacMillan at publicity@tbn.ca

Total Marshals: 30

In addition to Ride Ambassadors, TBN is also seeking members to serve as Ride Marshals, a new role as of last year. We need 15 pairs of riders for this group, who will wear the new TBN jerseys (there will be opportunities to borrow one if you haven't purchased yours yet) as well as identifying arm bands supplied by Ride for Heart. These volunteers are empowered to ensure rider safety along the route, urging participants to slow down and/or take greater care.

Note: We also need volunteers to help out at the booth. For that, please contact Rick MacMillan  at publicity@tbn.ca
