Sunday Urban Roller - Stouffville
CANCELLED due to a forecast that includes a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Not great when you're out in the country with no shelter. The ride is being rescheduled to tomorrow when the weather will be much better. You will need to re-register for the ride on Monday.
Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Under the Phase 3 Provincial guidelines we are permitted up to 100 participants, as unlikely as that seems.
We are accepting "guest rider" registrations for this event. Guest registrations are $10 payable via PayPal.
We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, hand sanitizer
Head up to Stouffville for the holiday weekend, far from the crowded trails downtown. This ride will get you out into the country for a change and has some long straight stretches. It's as close to a Country Cruise as Sunday Urban Roller gets. The route takes advantage of the repaved and widened Ninth Line on the return leg.
Lunch is at Tim Hortons, with Harveys and McDonalds at the same intersection. You may still wish to bring your own lunch and snacks to avoid lineups and contact.
This ride is considered as Advanced Urban Roller due to the pace and longer than usual stretches without regrouping, including one 14.5 km long section. It is not recommended for Leisure Wheelers or people who haven't done much riding yet this year.
Meet for a 10 am departure from the Municipal parking lot, south-east corner of McCowan and Bushby, one block north of Ellesmere, just east of the Scarborough Town Centre. The McCowan RT station is closest.
The Ride with GPS map for the route is linked below, as well as a simplified cue sheet. The RwGPS auto-generated cuesheet has not been checked, but the linked cue sheet has been optimised for Sunday Urban Rollers.
