If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation by Saturday. Attendance will be checked at the start. We are still under Covid-19 guidelines, so remember to bring and wear your mask in appropriate situations and maintain social distancing. Also, a helmet.

Aviation is the theme of this fairly easy ride that takes us around, and into, the airport. The route is almost entirely on residential streets and empty industrial roads, with no killer hill climbs, and a few long runways where you can fire up the afterburners. Depending on the wind, we may have some close up views of aircraft landing.

There are two rest stops on this ride: a short one at the Tim Horton's and Wendy's at Dixie Road and Mid-way Boulevard, and a longer one (lunch) at a Tim Horton's and A&W at Airport Road and Northwest Drive, which is near the approach to runway 23.

This particular ride will be at a faster pace than the usual Sunday Urban Roller ride. Note that this is not a "slow" or "beginner" ride. You should be able to maintain a pace of at least 20km/h for at least 15 minutes, and be comfortable riding in a group and sharing the road with other traffic.

As a route note, there's a point on the route where Convair Drive connects to Britannia Road East. This is where the route goes east into the airport to the YYZ ATC tower, then back out by the same route. It's a turn that's easy to miss, and even bike navigation computers can get confused.

Finally, here's a good YouTube channel about aviation, but, nothing to do with bikes. https://www.youtube.com/@74gear/featured

Meet for a 10 am departure from the north parking lot of the Kipling subway TTC station. If you are driving the parking lot can only be accessed from Dundas St.

If the ride is cancelled due to weather or other reasons, the cancellation will be posted by 8 am on Sunday. Please check the website before leaving for the ride.

See you Sunday
