For Sunday, November 7, we will be doing our third in-person walk since the start of the pandemic. For a brief description of some of the changes to help make the walks as safe as possible, please check the TBN website under PROGRAMS - FALL/WINTER - CITY WALKS (https://tbn.ca/programs/fallwinter/citywalks).
Meet at about 10:00 AM at the Chess House in High Park. It is located about 20 m south of Bloor St, and about 100 m west of High Park Ave. We will begin the walk at 10:10 sharp.
Keep in mind that times change this weekend, and if you forget to move your clock back, you will arrive at the start one hour early.
The walk will be about 8 Km. We will be doing a number of loops through the park, walking from the Chess House (which has washrooms) to the washrooms at High Park Drive. The length of each loop (and the distance between washroom stops) is 1.5 Km, 2.0 Km, 3.0 Km, and 1.5 Km.
The route is mostly paved but there are some gravel trails, and there may be puddles depending on weather conditions. Light hiking shoes or boots might be the most appropriate footwear.
I believe High Park is currently closed to vehicle traffic on weekends. There are several pay parking lots within about 1 Km from the start of the walk, there may be street parking available on nearby side streets, but the best choice may be to use the subway.
The closest public transit is High Park Station. There is currently a scheduled subway outage for Sunday on Line 1 (Yonge Line), from Finch to St Clair, but please check TTC Scheduled Subway Closures or Subway service (ttc.ca) in case there are any changes.
Points of interest and early exits along the way include:
- 0.0 Km – Chess House – (washrooms and access to High Park Station)
- 0.5 Km – Spring Road artesian well
- 1.5 Km – High Park Blvd (washrooms)
- 2.0 Km – Zoo
- 3.5 Km – Chess House – (washrooms and access to High Park Station)
- 4.4 to 5.6 Km – Grenadier Pond
- 6.5 Km – High Park Blvd (washrooms)
- 8.0 Km – Chess House – (washrooms and access to High Park Station)

Registration will be open 6 days before the event.
We are accepting Guest registrations.
If you have not registered for the walk, you may NOT join the walk.
If you have registered but can't attend, log in, click on "Already registered", then cancel.
REMINDER: A mask and hand sanitizer are required.
