Meet at 10 AM in the Tim Hortons at 334 Bloor St West, on the north side of Bloor, just west of Spadina, near the Spadina subway station.
We will visit seven examples of a uniquely Torontonian style of house that was popular among the city's elite in the late nineteenth century, known by some as the "Annex style house". There will be a washroom stop at Sidney Smith Hall, a coffee stop at a McDonald's, and a lunch stop at WVRST on King St.
The distance will be about 10 Km, and we will end up at Osgoode Station. The walk will be almost entirely on downtown streets, with a short section through Queen's Park. Shoes or boots suitable for the weather would be appropriate. Since this walk is downtown, if you are interested in early exits, after about 4 Km we will never be more than about 200 m from a streetcar route.
Early exits and other points of interest along the way include:
The route is available on Ride with GPS at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31875932
Note that there will be no subway service on Line 1 between Sheppard-Yonge and St Clair stations on Saturday and Sunday, as this may affect your travel plans. Please check https://www.ttc.ca/Service_Advisories/Subway_closures/index.jsp in case there are any further changes.
Non-members are welcome. They will be asked to sign the waiver form but will not be charged the non-member fee.
