A ride through suburban side streets and country roads to Kettleby, then heading back via King City (lunch at Roost Cafe pictured above). A 70-km variant (taking 16th side road from Dufferin to Jane) and a 60-km variant (taking 15th side road from Dufferin to Keele) are possible, and might permit a ride if rain is forecast but not until after a shortened ride, or could be taken by those wishing a shorter ride.

Meet north of Finch Subway Station at "Finch" west parking lot on the north side of Hendon Ave, just west of Yonge St.

If a substantial part of the Yonge Subway is closed the day of this ride, alternatives for those planning to take the subway are needed: either the shuttle buses (which can carry 2 bikes each), or cycling up. Here is a recommended route, using the bike lane under Hwy 401 and avoiding Yonge Street north of Hwy 401.

N.B. If you are driving north on Yonge St, keep going past Finch Ave and turn left onto Hendon Ave. The parking lot is on the right near 18 Hendon Ave, North York.

We are accepting "guest rider" registrations for this event. Guest registrations are $10 payable via PayPal.

If you have not registered for the ride, you may NOT  join the ride.

Ride leader: John Burdett

Online map and cue sheet, by distance and elevation gain:

                                        61 km/255 m

                                        71 km/320 m

                                        81 km/434 m

For those biking from downtown to Finch Station (or back), this route shows a bike path that can be taken to get from one side of Hwy 401 to the other.

If you had to bicycle from downtown to Finch station out of necessity (i.e., because of a subway closure) and don't want to bicycle back, here is a route from Roost Cafe to Vaughan subway station.

PLEASE PRINT THE CUE SHEETS & MAPS, OR DOWNLOAD THE GPS FILES BEFORE ATTENDING THE RIDE. (The ride leader does not provide maps or cue sheets).

Helmets are required.

Will be cancelled up to 2 hours before the start of the ride if significant rain is forecast with moderate or higher likelihood for any time during the ride.
