DESCRIPTION
This ride gets us quickly into the countryside from our starting point. Meet just outside the Aldershot GO train station on the south side, next to the parking lot. We will stop at the Royal Canadian Legion just before Lynden, where we can eat our own snacks/lunch on picnic tables, but apart from a General Store in Lynden that sells junk food, bottled water and pop (and lots of alcohol!), there is nothing else, so bring your own food and plenty of water. There is a nice long (18.8 km) stretch on a partly shaded and well-packed rail trail on the return leg from Lynden, and a descent to a wetland edge of Burlington Bay near the end of the ride.
For those arriving by train, the 9:03 AM Lakeshore West GO train from Union Station (9:12 AM from Exhibition Station) is scheduled to arrive at Aldershot at 10:00 AM. When you leave the train, head to the east end of the platform (the direction from which you came) before heading south.
We are accepting "guest rider" registrations for this event. Guest registrations are $10 payable via PayPal.
If you have not registered for the ride, you may NOT join the ride.
