Results are in and the majority of participants thought this year’s Cyclon was excellent! Of the 154 participants we sent the survey to, 83 responded, over half, so thank you for that. On that note, congratulations to Arlene Smith who won this year’s $25 gift card for participating in the survey.
A big thank you to everyone who attended Cyclon 2024 and an enormous thank you to all you volunteers, without whom Cyclon would not be possible.
Sadly, we are saying goodbye to two long standing, key members from the Cyclon committee. Their knowledge and mentorship will be missed. With their departure we are looking to fill their positions so if you’d like to give back a bit to this great cause please reach out to cyclon@tbn.ca. Previous Cyclon experience is helpful but definitely not mandatory.
With the Official TBN Facebook group firmly launched and its content growing, we are conscious that Instagram is the Social Network of choice for many and we would like to increase our presence there. We are looking for Instagram-savvy members who can support the Communication mandate of the club in moderating and creating content in the social platform. Please reach out to publicity@tbn.ca if you are interested in the role.
TBN Pub Quiz, Sept. 26. The TBN Pub Quiz series continues on the third or fourth Thursday of each month at one of Toronto’s best and most interesting venues, the Prenup Pub. Registration for the Sept. 26 event is now open via the calendar. More details about our exciting new quiz format and about the Pub Quiz series are available here.
Dancing on the Danforth, Oct. 11 and 19. Due to a conflict, the band for the September event had to reschedule for early October. Thus, we will have two Dancing on the Danforth events in October. Come to Noonan’s Irish Pub and dance to or just listen to one or both of these great bands. There is NO COVER. More information, music videos, and registration can be found here.
TBN AGM Dinner and Dance, Nov. 9. This year, we have a beautiful new venue, which is located very close to Dundas Station. Following the AGM, there will be a four-course dinner and dancing to a great live band. Registration is now open. More information and registration can be found here.
Exciting New Social Event! This off-season, you will be invited to attend presentations by TBN members of interesting cycling trips they've done. These gatherings will be both social and informative and open to members and the general public. Please help us plan by spending a couple of minutes to complete this survey about your preferences: https://forms.gle/i2sZwDoLEL2nMav29.
If you would be interested in doing a presentation on a trip you have taken, please email social@tbn.ca or experience@tbn.ca.
TNTO (Toronto-Niagara-Toronto-Overnight) is a two-day cycling challenge for experienced cyclists, which took a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to that, it had been held for 27 years on a June weekend. TNTO is not just a cycling event but one of TBN’s iconic overnight trip events. Organizing TNTO again is important for maintaining the club’s traditions and promoting cycling in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. We are hoping to organize TNTO again in 2025 and would like your feedback. Please complete our survey to provide your thoughts on this key event by Oct. 4.
The City Walk program will be starting up again around the beginning of November, with walks on Sundays. If you would like to have some input regarding what we do this year, please register to attend our online Zoom session on Sept. 19. Alternatively, you can email John Burdett with any of your ideas.

Looking for something different? Many groups reach out to us sharing information on their charity events. We have decided to publish those events under our "Third-party Events" calendar, which can be accessed via the Calendar entry in the top menu in our site or here.
Please ensure to periodically update your TBN club profile. Perhaps upload a photo of yourself (so other members know who you are), confirm that your email address listed is correct (as this is the primary way for us to contact you), confirm your phone and emergency contacts are still valid, and update your current (or former) occupation and let us know if and how you would like to volunteer with TBN. We are always looking for helping hands, especially those with needed skills. How to do this: Login to the website www.tbn.ca, click on your name, then click Edit Profile. When you are done, press Save to commit your changes.
Please be considerate of your fellow club members. We are seeing daily occurrences of members who have registered, but are not showing up for a ride. If you have registered for a club event, and you cannot attend, or you choose not to attend, please cancel your registration. For events where there are limited spaces, you are opening up your spot for someone else who might be on the event's waitlist. At the very least, it informs the ride leader not to expect you at the start. If you are unsure how to cancel your registration, see the Cancel-my-registration page for details.
Please remember to login to the TBN website prior to registering for our Events. If you are not logged in, the system does not know who you are, and will only offer you the Guest Rider registration choice. Also, when you are logged into the TBN website, a lot of members-only content appears.
