FALL/WINTER HIKING PROGRAM
TBN is currently seeking a program coordinator for our fall/winter hiking program.
The hiking program coordinator would be responsible for planning a schedule of weekly hikes (1-2 per week) and recruiting hike leaders from among TBN members who have some hiking experience. TBN has a hike route library just like for rides and leaders can choose from those or create their own with some guidance. The program coordinator can lead some hikes if they would like but would be responsible for organizing leaders for all hikes that they do not want to lead personally. If you or someone you know might like to volunteer to fulfill this role and get more involved in TBN leadership, please contact info@tbn.ca
Are you looking to participate in a vigorous outdoor activity after a great summer of cycling? Enjoy a social get together with fellow TBNers while maintaining your fitness level.
This year there will be hikes in the late fall, typically after cycling season comes to an end.
A few tips: Please bring your hiking boots/shoes, a water bottle, lunch. a backpack and icers for later in the season. A hat is a good idea, as is rain gear. Layered clothing works best. Wear a couple of pairs of socks - a polypropylene pair (sock-liners) for wicking moisture away and a wool pair for warmth. It's a good idea to bring a second pair of shoes for the drive home (it will help keep the car clean).
If you don't have a ride to the meeting point, post a ridesharing request to the hike leader or on the TBN facebook group. Or look into the City Walks program as the City Walks meeting points are accessible by public transport.
See you on the hiking trails!
The 2026 TBN Fall Hiking Season starts in mid October thru the spring 2027
