Taking advantage of the Victoria Day Niagara GO train, we are going to do the usual ride to Niagara and take the GO train back again. Since this is early in the season, we will take the easier waterfront route where it is mirror smooth and pancake flat.
Date: Saturday May 21st. Start: Burlington GO station south parking lot, 2101 Fairview St, Burlington. Time: 8:00 am. Distance: 100 km. Return: GO train to Burlington leaving Niagara at 3:16 pm and arriving back at 4:36 pm. Burlington GO station: https://goo.gl/maps/u6vaS7JCGPR19tTT6
When you arrive back in Burlington, as you leave the train, remember to "tap off" if you used a Presto card. Otherwise, your card will be charged to the end of the line.
Route: RWGPS file
Lunch: At 46km mark, Grand Oak Culinary Market. Great lunch with outdoor patio! Great review please check. Grand Oak Culinary Market Link: https://g.page/GOCulinary?share
In order to avoid the crowd, we start early and take the early GO train back. The 3:16 train was almost empty last year when we took it!
With our usual moderate speed, we should be in Niagara Falls between 1:00-1:30. Plenty of time to grab a quick beer, snack if wanted at Taps Brewhouse near the Niagara GO station where they serve great home brew. Taps Brewhouse: https://goo.gl/maps/6NxnxcXmuXWWtLSH9
We would like to suggest leaving your car at home by taking the early GO train to Burlington station if you live downtown or live near a GO station. Avoid traffic congestion and save money. Please check the respective GO train schedule.
This is a Tourist-class ride - be prepared to be self-sufficient. Check out the Tourist level in TBN's Ride Classifications - click here.
Check the website 2 hours before the start time - the ride could be rescheduled or cancelled at the discretion of the organizers.
Don't forget your Presto card.
