For Sunday, October 24, we will be doing our first in-person walk since the start of the pandemic. For a brief description of some of the changes to help make the walks as safe as possible, please check the TBN website under PROGRAMS - FALL/WINTER - CITY WALKS (https://tbn.ca/programs/fallwinter/citywalks).
Meet at 10:00 AM in the parkette at the intersection of University Ave. and Front St., north of Front, in the little triangle where University Avenue splits, just east of Jack Astor's.
If needed, please visit the washrooms in Union Station before coming to the parkette, as we will leave directly from there and will not have a washroom stop until we return to the start in 6 Km. Washrooms in Union Station can be found by waking south from the middle of the Great Hall to the VIA Concourse Hall "Entrance to Trains" (just after going down the ramp, Men's on the right, Women's on the left) or by walking west from the Great Hall (washrooms are down a corridor on the south side).
We will walk in a loop, first down to the lake, westward to Ireland Park, then back along Front to the start. Then we will do a second loop to The Distillery District, walking along Front St. and returning to the start via The Esplanade. The distance for the first loop is 6.0 Km, and the distance for the complete walk 10.3 Km. The walk will be entirely on city streets. Bathrooms will be available in Union Station and The Distillery District.
Vehicle parking is available in numerous nearby lots, including one under the parkette at which we are meeting. The closest public transit is the Union Subway Station.
There is a scheduled subway outage this weekend, with no service on the Yonge Line (Line 1) between Finch and St. Clair, in case this affects your travel plans, but please check https://www.ttc.ca/Service_Advisories/Subway_closures/index.jsp in case there are any changes.
Points of interest and early exits along the way include:

- 8.1 Km – The Distillery District – streetcar access and bathrooms
