BIKING FOR BURSARIES

This month's trip presentation features a presentation of TBN member Brian Smeenk, about his 2500 km Opportunity Road Ride around Southern Ontario! The event is free and open to all TBN members and their guests.

Brian completed this trip in around 3 weeks, finishing on September 8, 2025. This trip aim was to raise funds for the Merit Award Bursary Program, of which he is President. The effort raised over $80,000 for Merit Award Bursaries for students in the GTA. Brian's ride was a loop around Sourthern Ontario.  It took him from Toronto to Fort Erie, west to Leamington, then north to Sarnia and along Lake Huron to Wiarton, then east through Barrie and the Kawarthas to Ottawa, south to Cornwall, then home along Lake Ontario. Come and here about exciting places in Ontario to visit in bicycle-tour.

The event takes place at The Northern District Public Library, which is  conveniently located a two-minute walk north of the Eglinton Subway station. You can find free parking on the small streets west and north of the library. Please read parking signs before parking. 

The presentation will take up 1 hour including a short Q and A, but participants are welcome to continue discussion afterward at the Duke of Kent Pub, which is across the road from the library.
