Solstice Cycling Trip in Prince Edward County, Ontario

Cycle the quiet roads of rural Prince Edward County (PEC) before the crowds arrive at this popular summer vacation destination. This extended weekend trip, Thursday to Sunday, is based in the quaint village of Wellington at a delightful lakeside motel with many amenities, including: mini frig in each room, free wifi, screened gazebo with microwave and tables, BBQ, picnic tables, large waterfront lawn, fire-pit.
In addition to cycling, there are: beaches, wineries, art studios, birdwatching, restaurants, quaint villages and more to explore.

Registration includes:
- 3 nights lodging at Lakeside Village Inn
Accommodations are double occupancy rooms (single occupancy is not an option):
- 7 rooms have 1 queen bed + 1 pull-out sofa
- 1 room has 1 king bed
- all rooms have an ensuite bathroom
- all rooms have a mini frig
Meals:
- since there's access to frig, microwave and BBQ you can provide your own meals (bring disposable utensils as there is no wash up sink for this purpose).
- Friday - optional group wine tasting event at a local winery.
- Friday evening - optional group dinner at a restaurant.
- Saturday evening we'll have a group potluck BBQ dinner.
Cycling Routes/Distance:
Routes are classified as Advanced Easy Roller to Tourist. The terrain is fairly flat. The route distance choices are 60 km or 80 km. The short routes will have a leader, with regrouping as/if needed.
Cost:
- $240 per person for TBN members
- $270 per person for non TBN members.
Car-pool:
To seek or offer a ride to the event use the handy TBN car-pool forum.
Cancellation policy:
If a group of 10 people at minimum is not achieved, the trip will be cancelled and all costs reimbursed. If you need to cancel your registration, you will receive a refund (minus an administrative fee of 10%) if there is an individual of the same gender who can occupy the room. This person (member or non-member) could be on a waiting list; otherwise, it is up to you to sell your spot. You might wish to purchase insurance for medical/emergency cancellation.
Registration:
Open for TBN members: March 24, 2015
Open for non-members: April 14, 2015.
Registration closes: May 22, 2015.
This trip is limited to a maximum of 16 people (including 1 trip leader) so register early to reserve a spot. When you register you will receive a confirmation email. An email containing extra trip information will be sent closer to the event date.
