Fall Hiking - Dundas Valley Waterfalls - 13 km

  • 01 Nov 2015
  • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Dundas
We follow the Niagara Escarpment in Dundas Valley Conservation Area and encounter four Ancaster waterfalls along the trail. Some hills and steep declines on this loop hike. We will see lookouts, a replica of a Victorian train station, ruins, beautiful fall foliage and rolling terrain.  Fees to park.

Distance:  12 km
Pace:  Moderate (~4.5 km/hr)
Terrain:  Moderate - hills

Directions:  Take the QEW west to 403W to Hamilton (follow signs for Hamilton/Brantford) and exit at 69A for Main Street West. Keep driving until you pass University Plaza, then continue left on Main West, which becomes Wilson Street as you continue toward Ancaster. About half way up the escarpment, you will come across a small parking area labeled "Tiffany Falls Conservation Area".  Limited parking so car pool, if possible.

Note: There are no washroom facilities at the start, so you may want to visit the Tim's on Main St. West on your way to the start.

For those that can make it a bit early, there is street parking on Lions Club Rd. just west of Old Dundas Rd.  Then do a 20 minute hike along the Bruce Trail to the start at Tiffany Falls.
