CLARINGTON CRUISER
PLEASE NOTE: Only REGISTRANTS are permitted to participate in this ride. Guest rider registration is now possible. Please read registration details on the CC webpage
After a bit of a hiatus from starting in this location, the Country Cruise program is pleased to introduce a gorgeous new ride from Newcastle to Orono, scouted out last summer by a keen CCer. The route travels along open, scenic farmland (and a small air museum) and mounts some hills in and around Clarington to eventually arrive in the town of Orono for lunch. Bring your lunch to enjoy in Orono's lovely community park with picnic tables and washroom facilities. Or, if you prefer, pick up something at a local convenience store or the bakery on the main street. The return trip to Newcastle has some wonderful downhill stretches and passes some great apple orchards.
Start: 9:00am At the Newcastle Public School 50 Glass St., Newcastle, ON.
Driving directions: Take Hwy 401 E until Exit 440 for Regional Rd. 17 / Mill Street toward Newcastle / Bond Head. Turn right onto Mill Street S.
