For a long time, I had been hoping that a slower paced Country Cruise would be available. As a TBN member (mostly) since the early 80's, my ability to keep up with the higher average speeds has diminished. I accept that. It's wonderful to "get out of Dodge", so I've been using RWGPS for the routes and going on my own. On July 25th, I joined a slower paced Country Cruise headed by Alice Chan. Alice was a lot of fun, helpful and did her research very well. We had a congenial group. As an added bonus, Alice arranged for a friend to bring fresh watermelons to the parking lot where we started from. What a welcome treat! Hopefully, this format will become a regular TBN feature. I'll most certainly join up again.
Thanks Steve for your encouraging feedback which makes me feel very appreciated and awarding as a ride leader !
It was a real pleasure to ride with you and everyone. In fact, I am a slow rider and I love enjoying the scenery at a slow pace. So, let's keep this going!
(By the way the person who offered us water melon was Dennis Szilvasy our Touring Director. Dennis and his wife Chris were the ride leaders of the longer routes that day they checked on us since they were nearby seeing us riding back in the area.)
