Ski season's coming

One of our ski trips has already sold out, but you can still get on the waiting list for Wanakita in January, and register for the February adventure in Arrowhead Provincial Park. Check the sidebar for more details, and reserve your spot now, before the trip sells out. Registration will open soon for our third scheduled winter excursion, at the Wolf Den Hostel and Nature Retreat near Algonquin Park

Hike, walk, skate, spin

There are plenty of TBN events to keep you active in the cold weather. Check the website for our City Walks program and for the out-of-town hikes. The fall spinning program has already started, and there's skating every Friday while the rinks are open.

Check the TBN events calendar for details of these activities, and for the latest information about the few remaining cycling excursions.

This is your 2014-15 TBN board

We showed you this one before, but just in case you forgot, here's your TBN board for the coming year. Pictured from left to right: Arlene Smith (president), Peggy Kiely (co-treasurer), Janet Guttsman (secretary), Wilma Sanson (co-education), Neil Connolly (cyclon), Donna Van (co-education), Susan Bishop (social), Joey Schwartz (advocacy), Dave Mader (touring), Jean O'Grady (overnight trips) and Ed Weiss (communications). Janet and Neil are, unfortunately, not quite visible. Not pictured: Marilyn Prole (co-treasurer). You can see the current board of directors with their email contacts here.

Get involved

TBN volunteers run all of our activities like Cyclon, Toogood Pond picnic, TNTO and our biking hiking, skiing and skating activities. Without volunteer support from members like you, we would be unable to run these programs, and all the other programs that we enjoy throughout the year. There are also many small, short-term tasks that can use a set of hand so please contact president@tbn.ca to learn more.

Deals and discounts

Don't forget to check out the GTA retailers and services that offer discounts to TBN members. Save money on bikes and accessories, as well as services such as tours, training sessions or a subscription to Pedal Magazine. With winter approaching, take a special look at our three travel partners: Tour d'Afrique, South India Bicycle Adventure and Two-wheeling Women.

Enjoy your rides, hikes, walks, spins and more, and remember to visit the TBN calendar of events to find out more about what's coming up.
