Anyone knows which airline is the cheapest? Not going with Air Canada because of this news, https://www.bicycling.com/news/a20022489/cyclist-slapped-with-unbelievable-airline-bike-fee/

Go with West Jet. The website says 75.00 for a bike.

Go to the check in and book in your luggage, your second bag(bike) will only be charged 25.00. Have your bike packaging open for inspection. Take your bike over oversized baggage and have them do the swab, finish packing up the bike. Enjoy your flight to Vancouver. West jet has never charged me the extra 50.00. Good luck.

Westjet is not bad but the pilots may go on strike soon. http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/westjet-alpa-pilots-strike-vote-1.4656703

Greg, can I put my bike kit, tools, and some clothing inside the bike bag under the weight limit? Thanks.

The last time I flew I had my rain gear and tools in my frame bag. Just remember they will need to open it for inspection. Also put your lock on to save weight for your other checked bag. So I don’t think it will be a problem.
