There were some 200 participants at the annual TBN picnic earlier this month, and we offer our special thanks to all the volunteers at Toogood Pond, plus ride leaders, sweeps and all the others who helped make the day such a success. Here are some of the helpers, with apologies to everyone we missed: Paul, Brenda, Michael, Joe, Betty, Roy, Terry, John, Carol, Arlene, Rein, Sandra L, Sandra M, Neale, Catherine and Patsy. It was perfect weather, and we didn't quite run out of burgers, although it was pretty close. There are plenty of pictures on the TBN Facebook page, and you can also check out Brian Tao's 5-minute video.
TBN is looking for a new team of volunteers to run the iconic TNTO weekend, a mid-June adventure to Niagara Falls and back (long and short routes available). The new team will also reset the program, which has been running for the last 26 years. Our recent home, The Rodeway Inn, was sold last year and prices jumped by 20 percent. Please contact Jeannie at weekendtrips@tbn.ca if you can help. The previous team of Tony Lau, Carole Sovran and Ian Rankin will be happy to help with background and advice.
After a short delay earlier this year, TBN's popular member of the month program is coming back, offering an award that recognizes a member who went over and above the norm to help the club or its members. To nominate someone, please email memberofthemonth@tbn.ca.

Sign up now, or we may be forced to cancel the trip. More details on the website. Thanksgiving in Madawaska: October 12-14A special Thanksgiving trip to the Madawaska Kanu Centre, just south of Algonquin Park, is open for registration. You can register on the TBN website, but you will need to phone the centre to pay for your stay, with prices that depend on whether you're staying in the lodge, in dormitory accommodation or camping. Check the TBN website for more details of this trip, which offers self-guided road cycling (maps provided), a guided mountain biking adventure, or hiking.
