We're just a month away from TBN 's annual picnic, which takes place on August 11 at Toogood Pond in Markham. Choose your route to the picnic, and then enjoy a barbecue lunch, courtesy of TBN. If you've got the new TBN jersey, please wear it for a group picture under the summer sun. Check the website for details and to register for this always-popular event.
After our successful Canada Day trial run, TBN's subway-starting Sunday Tourist rides are back, with a twist: we're running two rides each week, a longer Tourist A ride for faster riders and a slightly more leisurely Tourist B ride. The rides start at a city subway station and head out into the countryside -- perfect for people without a car, or riders who want to reduce their carbon footprint or avoid GTA traffic jams. Details are on the TBN website.
Our long summer rides to Niagara Falls are on agenda again for 2019, with the Tourist-class 166km special scheduled for August 17 and the 151km advanced Urban Roller version on August 24. You'll ride through lakefront parks and on quiet bike lanes, and reach Niagara Falls in time for the evening GO train back to Toronto.
Space on the bike train is limited. You must register ahead of time to join these rides.
