Volunteer of the Year Awards

Nominations are currently being accepted for 6 volunteer of the year awards with awards and criteria listed below. To nominate your choices please complete the 2026 TBN Volunteer Awards Nomination form here. Awards will also be given based on club data for highest number of TBN club rides ridden and most TBN club rides led.

1. Ride Leader Award

Recognizes: A ride leader who consistently provides an excellent experience for members.

Criteria:

• Led a significant number of rides or made a particularly meaningful contribution

• Demonstrated good preparation and knowledge of route

• Prioritized rider safety and inclusivity

• Was dependable and well-organized

• Created a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere

3. SAG or Sweep Award

Recognizes: Someone whose contributions help make rides more inclusive and accessible, watches out for fellow riders and encourages, steps in wherever help is needed.

Criteria:

 Regularly contributes without seeking recognition

• Steps up to support often without getting to ride, but understands the needs of the riders and leaders

• Is dependable and follows through on commitments

5. Newcomer Volunteer Award

Recognizes: A newer club member and volunteer who has made an exceptional contribution to improving the experience of club members.

Criteria:

 Made members feel welcomed, supported, and included

• Responded to member needs or concerns thoughtfully

• Improved programs, events, or services

• Contributed to a positive and inclusive club culture

6. Club Leadership & Management Award

Recognizes: A ride leader who consistently provides an excellent experience for members.

Criteria:

• Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational and administrative skills

• Supported the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the club

• Managed records, communications, finances, technical or other administrative responsibilities reliably

• Handled challenges and responsibilities with professionalism and attention to detail

• Contributed to a well-organized, welcoming, and sustainable club environment

2. Event Support Award

Recognizes: Someone whose important contributions often happen behind the scenes, such as: event route preparation, communications, administration, equipment, logistics, setup/cleanup, online tech assistance.


Criteria:

• Regularly contributes without seeking recognition

• Performs important administrative, organizational, technical, or logistical work

• Is dependable and follows through on commitments

• Makes the work of other volunteers easier or more effective

4. Event Organizer Award

Recognizes: A volunteer who made an exceptional contribution organizing major events.


Criteria:

 Demonstrated strong planning and organization

• Successfully coordinated people, logistics, and details

• Handled challenges constructively

• Created a positive experience for participants and fellow volunteers

7. Most Rides Ridden Award

Recognizes: The member who has participated in the highest number of TBN club rides based on TBN ride report data, not nominations.

8. Most Rides Led Award

Recognizes: The ride leader who has led the highest number of TBN club rides based on TBN ride report data, not nominations.
