Sunday Urban Roller - Eastern Loop

  • 06 Nov 2016
  • 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Victoria Park Subway

If you don't wear yourself out dancing at the AGM Dinner Saturday night, here's one last Sunday Urban Roller ride to make up for the ones that got cancelled earlier in the season due to the weather. Of course that could still happen to this one too. As always, check on Sunday morning after 8 am to make sure that the ride is still happening.

This is a new ride, that combines bits of a couple of other SUR rides (Gatineau Gallop, Highland Creek) with a new section that takes us over to Pickering, then back along the Waterfront Trail. Lunch is at a new (to you) Tim Hortons/Wendys.

This ride is classified as Advanced Urban Roller, and here's why: There are no less than four significant hills. One of them we have not encountered before at this ride level, Twyn Rivers Drive, and is not particularly easy. It is steep, both down and up and is only one lane wide in each direction. Care will need to be taken on this stretch.

The Ride with GPS link below will take you to the map of the route. There may also be a cue sheet posted for the ride if time permits. Check back on Friday for that.

Meet for a 10 am departure from the parking lot of the Victoria Park subway station, on Victoria Park Avenue, just north of Danforth Avenue on the east side.

A final note: Sunday marks the end of Daylight Savings time, so remember to set your clock back and enjoy the extra hour of sleep, or you'll be cooling your heels in the parking lot for a while waiting for the rest of us to show up.

As always, riders are required to wear a helmet. Non-members may join by signing the waiver and paying a five dollar fee.
