Neale Hunt here again. This is the second of two charity rides to benefit the Brain Injury Society of Toronto (BIST) that I want to advertise to TBN members.

I became interested in this charity through a ride friend in another club.  My friend's wife suffered a traumatic brain injury in a bicycle crash that ultimately led to her early passing.  Since then, my friend has been helping to raise funds for the BIST as they were very helpful for him and his family during these very rough times.

Tanya's Ride takes place on Saturday, September 7th, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., out of Albion Hills Park.  There is an 80 km gravel route and a 75 km road route.

The purpose of the ride is to raise funds; however, fundraising is not something I particularly relish and I'm sure I'm not alone.  While fundraising is encouraged, it is not necessary, although a $100 minimum donation is requested.  For that, coffee stop treats are paid for and there is a post ride meal in Albion Hills Park.  I attended this ride last year and I will be going again, weather permitting.

Tanya's Ride is sponsored by another bicycle club (Velocity Bicycle Club in Etobicoke which has just this year merged with the Etobicoke Cycling Club).  This is a club ride; however, non-club members can attend (and some do) upon signing a waiver.

If there are any questions about this ride, it would be good to post them here so everyone can see the replies.  Anyone interested in attending should contact Keith Luder (the main organizer) for the waiver form and information on how to pay.  Keith can be reached at kvluder@gmail.com.

Safe riding to everyone, and I hope to see some of you at Tanya's Ride this year.
