Sunday Urban Roller - Mimico Creek
Please note: You must register to participate on the ride. Registration is free for TBN members. Non-members can now purchase a 30 day trial membership for $15 here and then can register for the ride. If you cannot attend, please cancel your reservation by Saturday. Attendance will be checked at the start.
Please remember to bring (and wear) a helmet.
This is an Urban Roller level ride. If you are uncertain whether this level is appropriate to your riding level, click here. For a more nuanced description check this page.
Route Note: The route has been revised slightly to avoid duplication of parts of last week's Etobicoke Meander ride and hopefully avoid some of the bugs along the waterfront. RwGPS map has been updated accordingly. (Wednesday 1:30 pm)
Marathon note: The Toronto Marathon is being held on Sunday. Although it doesn't affect our route it might impact your getting to the start in Etienne Brule park. A map of the Marathon routes can be found here.
A slightly longer ride for our second (thanks, weather) outing. This one will take us up the Humber to the Eglinton bike path, then down a bit of Mimico Creek and (mostly) quiet streets to a different Tim Hortons for lunch. From there it's over to the Etobicoke Creek trail down to the lake, and back along the Waterfront Trail and the Birmingham St bike lanes to Royal York. Then back up the Royal York bike lanes to the start.
Meet at Etienne Brule Park for a 10 am start.
The parking lot at Brule is still partially occupied by construction so if the lot is full you may need to use the parking lot of Kings Mill Park, just back across the bridge over the Humber and on the south side.
The Ride with GPS map for the route is linked below.
If a ride is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances a cancellation notice will be posted around 8 am on Sunday morning. Please check before leaving for the ride.
See you Sunday
