The City of Toronto website says "Each May, Doors Open Toronto invites the public to explore the city’s most-loved buildings and sites, free of charge. The event provides rare access to buildings that are not usually open to the public and free access to sites that would usually charge an admission fee. Since its inception in 2000, it has attracted more than two million visits to nearly 700 unique locations and remains the largest event of its kind in Canada."

This year’s Doors Open Toronto will take place on May 23 & 24. Information on the buildings & sites, talks, and neighbourhood tours being offered this year is available at: https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/festivals-events/doors-open-toronto/. We encourage everyone to participate by visiting some of the sites.

If you would like to join some TBN members to visit some sites, let's start at Bily Bishop Airport. Meet at the main entrance on the mainland side, near the sign that shows where the shuttle bus parks. Together, we will take an elevator down to the tunnel and walk across.

Note that there is a free shuttle bus service: Billy Bishop Airport from/to Royal York Hotel. For more information on location and departure times, click: https://www.billybishopairport.com/to-from/shuttle/. Also, the 509 streetcar from Union Station takes about 20 minutes, with 10 minute service, and it is about a 30-minute walk from Union Station.

Please be aware that subway service on Line 2 between Kennedy and Woodbine stations will be replaced by shuttle buses on Saturday, May 23 to Sunday, May 24, and take this into account if it affects your travel plans.

From Billy Bishop we will probably then visit the nearby Corleck Building, and perhaps STACT afterwards. If tyou have any suggestions, email me at citywalks@tbn.ca.
