Cannonball 300: Gravel Bikepacking with Camping May 16-18, 2026

Ride Class: Bikepacking is riding your bike, generally off paved roads (gravel rail trail etc), at 18-20 kph, for more than one day, self-supported, and for this trip carrying gear necessary for camping. To help you determine if this ride class/level is suitable for you, you can read a description of it (and the other TBN ride classes) at Choose Your Ride Level.
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53753734 A 340k loop from Harbour West GO in Hamilton, on rail trail, gravel and pavement. Suitable for gravel bike with 700x38-42 tires.
Cost: The trip leader has pre-booked campsites at two campgrounds and a week prior to the trip will request an e-transfer for $35pp. Each person will pay for their own food and drink at restaurants and stores.
Cancellation Policy: Individuals cancelling will still need to pay their $35pp fee as the campsite is shared and so can't be cancelled to recover the cost. If the trip has to be cancelled due to weather prior to May 16th 12pm then each person will be asked to pay ~$9pp to cover the portion of the cost that won't be refunded.

3 days with 2 nights camping in campgrounds Selkirk Provincial Park (126.7k), and at Niagara Falls KOA Campground (222k).
Cost per person for campsites, to be determined and communicated by the trip leader and paid by e-transfer to the trip leader about 5 days before the trip.

Distance 340 km. Elevation Gain 962 m, so reasonably flat. Unpaved ~127 km 37% (mostly rail trail).
Recommend a gravel bike, with 700x38mm or wider tires, for gravel rail trail and gravel roads.
Bikepacking/touring bags and camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, mattress, etc).
At the start/finish, at West Harbour GO Station, the parking is free. Will need to drive as transit and GO Trains not running early enough for 8am start.
