About ALS Society of Canada’s Revolution Ride

In 2021 the ALS Society of Canada added to its signature event series with the addition of a new cycling event, Revolution Ride! Revolution Ride will continue annually as a volunteer-powered, fundraising event that unites recreational, intermediate and avid cyclists who want to challenge themselves to do more in support of those we have loved and lost or who are facing ALS today. This cycling event will be a one-day fundraiser with multiple route lengths to choose from through beautiful, scenic Ontario by bike!

The Revolution Ride is a one-day fundraising event volunteer-powered, that unites cyclists who want to challenge themselves to do more in support of those we have loved and lost or who are facing ALS today. This premier cycling event will take place on Sunday, September 25, 2022 in picturesque Dundas, Ontario. Last year the community impressively rallied together to raise over $250,000, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and community members like yourself.

Will you volunteer with us this year?

Unsure what ALS is? ALS, also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a disease that gradually paralyzes people because the brain is no longer able to communicate with the muscles of the body that we are typically able to move at will. Over time, as the muscles of the body break down, someone living with ALS will lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and eventually breathe.

ALS Canada is a charitable organization that lives its values of accountability, collaboration, compassion, integrity, dynamic and respect, the ALS Society of Canada is working to change what it means to live with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, an unrelenting and currently terminal disease. Grounded in and informed by the Canadian ALS community, we respond to the urgent unmet need for life-changing treatments by investing in high-quality research that will fuel scientific discovery and by engaging industry, supporting increased clinical capacity and advocating for equitable, affordable and timely access to proven therapies. Responding to the tremendous need for current and credible ALS knowledge, awareness and education, we empower Canadians affected by ALS to navigate the current realities of ALS, be informed consumers of ALS information, and advocate effectively for change. In Ontario, we provide direct community services to help people navigate ALS. Founded in 1977, we are a registered charity that receives no core government funding – our work is powered by generous donors who share our vision of a future without ALS.

Volunteering with ALS Canada is an opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of all those affected by ALS, to give back to your community, to meet new people and to have fun!

Together, we are moving closer to a future without ALS!
