Would any of those new TTC subway stations in Vaughan be suitable as start points for rides? I've never ridden a bike though that part of Vaughan to notice what cycling infrastructure is there. As a car driver I feel there is a lot of traffic but I'm only driving on the major roads. There might be quieter routes.
I believe Joey will re-route some of the Sunday Tourist rides to start at the new northern most station. Would be great to eliminate about 10-12k of busy suburban and not-very-enjoyable riding each way!
Playing with Google Maps, I find that the new VMCC station is about 9km from Coffee Culture on Keele street whereas Finch station is about 18km. So there is the potential to cut about 9km of city riding each way from the "western" rides, which is significant.
The new Vmcc location will allow rides that go to Bolton and Jane is really close. Finch still might be used if a ride was going up Bayview. Kipling start point is for Westrn Rides. I wonder with all day service & weekend service on Go routes, that start points could be from Go stations, washroom & parking is usually good.
