Nestled in the heart of the provincially significant Oak Ridges Moraine, Long Sault Conservation Area has close to 400 hectares of mature forest, plantation, wetland and meadow. The area is considered an important core wildlife area because of the diversity and size of habitats that it contains.

This is a relatively easy and pleasant loop hike with few hills.  Much of Long Sault Conservation Area's natural beauty can be seen through its more than 18 km of marked trails.  There are washrooms at the trailhead.


Distance:  12 or 17 km

Estimated finish time:  1:30 pm (12 km)  -  3:00 pm (17 km)

Pay and Display Parking:  Max. $5/vehicle or $2/hour.

    47 King St. W., Bowmanville (south side at Silver St.)

    (Turn left onto King St. from County Rd 57, =Waverley Rd)
